The safety valve is a safety device installed to prevent explosion caused by excessive pressure in abnormal conditions in industrial boiler equipment and containers. When the pressure in the boiler is too high, the safety valve will automatically open, and then automatically close when the pressure drops to a safe range to prevent the equipment from exploding due to excessive pressure. Generally, the constant pressure of the safety valve is 1.05 to 1.10 times of the operating pressure.
According to the different structure and principle of action, safety valves can be divided into gravity type, lever type, spring type and other types. The lever type is more suitable when the working temperature is high and the pressure is not too high; the spring type should be used for high-pressure equipment; generally, the spring type safety valve is commonly used.
The operating principle of the spring-type safety valve is that when the boiler is operating normally, the downward force of the spring is greater than the upward force of the fluid on the valve core, and the safety valve is closed. Once the fluid pressure exceeds the allowable pressure, the upward force of the fluid acting on the valve core increases, the valve core is pushed open, and the fluid overflows. After the fluid pressure drops below the spring force, the spring presses the valve core to force it to close.
